HELP Uganda is a partnership between HELP International in Northern Colorado and the Ugandan people in Eastern Africa. Every day, a small, poverty-stricken Ugandan village, called Masese, is being transformed into a place of joyfulness and aspiration. Many hearts and dreams are attached to this effort and have joined to bring Masese a vocational training school for adults and a free primary school for children that have never had the opportunity to wear shoes, much less sit in a classroom. Hope is budding as this impoverished village begins to see a way out of their preceeding generations of subsistence living. HELP International is sure that education and the understanding of micro businesses is the only true way to end the cycle of destitution and tribulation. With persistence on both sides of the ocean and God's grace, the future leaders of Uganda will come from Masese. From illiteracy to knowlege, from unemployment to business owners, from hunger to health, from invisible and voiceless to a known story of courage, the peoole of Masese are striving to see the light at the end of their long, dark tunnel. The goal of HELP Uganda is to help the less fortunate to become self sufficient and therefore emerge from their state of poverty and hopelessness. Anything is possible with wisdom and love linking humanity.
