From Africa to the Ukraine, HELP International has reached out to orphans, widows, the sick, the lonely, the forgotten. Over $15 million dollars of humanitarian aid and medical supplies to over 65 countries around the world have been shipped from our warehouse, currently located in Fort Collins. Over 12 medical and humanitarian teams have personally traveled to 9 countries, touching hearts and joining hands with the people of each area. We have sent everything from bandages to wheelchairs; computers to school supplies; clothing to toys in an effort to be a viable steward of items that would end up in our landfills by putting them in the hands of those in desperate need.

The warehouse is a bustling place where folks with a vision and heart for the world come to get their hands dirty for someone they may never meet.

H.E.L.P. Uganda Primary School

In April, 2009 HELP International and HELP Uganda birthed a primary school for children in Masese, Uganda. Masese is near Jinga on Lake Victoria, the mouth of the Nile, in Southeastern Uganda.

With the willingness and courage of Ben Lubaale as teacher and Frank Mutambo as overseer the school began in May with 45 children that had never been schooled. These children ranged in age from 5 to 10, many had never even held a pencil, all were eager and excited to have the opportunity to learn.  Growth of the school has increased the  roster to 90 children in the first 6 weeks, and today 152 children.  We now have 3 teachers, and 3 classes.  Come and be part of making a difference in a child’s life.

Beacon Schools

Since 2000, HELP International has helped to meet the most basic  needs of children all over the world.  In the past we have clothed them  and fed them.  We have helped to heal them and play with them.  We are now moving forward into a new  role-to educate them.

Classes began with virtually nothing but a teacher and students eager to learn. There is  a roof, dirt floor and no walls.  A white board was found in the container previously sent by HELP International along with chairs, a box of paper and some markers. There are no other school supplies, teaching aids, books or curriculum, no desks or even tables. Most children sit on wooden benches, crowded together and distracted by on goings outside their space.

Transforming a Village-begins with the children

Poverty is prevalent in Masese with many unemployed and uneducated.   For HELP International and HELP Uganda to provide a way of taking these children from illiteracy to knowledge is an exciting and daunting goal.  We are participating in changing an entire community.

The school needs a feeding program as malnourishment interferes with learning and the poverty level is significant. A high yield garden is planned along with  milk cow, (96 glasses of milk a day) goats and chickens. With proper management this will also be income producing to help the school obtain self sustainability.

HELP International is looking for  persons and groups that can partner with us.  We are  committed to equipping this school. Funds are needed to send a container of supplies. Supplies are needed to fill the container. A team will be going to aid the school and community in September, 2010. Medical, construction, educators, agriculture, and water management are some of the expertise needed for the trip. A suggested list of needed supplies for the container is provided on this website.
